If you are really serious about being a fully qualified Hypnotherapist... one who meets the standards for associate and professional membership of the New Zealand Association of Professional Hypnotherapists* (NZAPH), registration with the New Zealand Hypnotherapists Registration Board* (NZHRB) and Certification and Accreditation* by the International Association of Counsellors and Therapists(IACT), then this training is for you.  *Note: Conditions apply.

As an experienced Hypnotherapist since 1980, and IACT Master Trainer, Roger Saxelby, Founder and Course Director of Alpha Hypnosis Training, believes that you will require therapy skills other than ‘just’ supportive/suggestion hypnotherapy.  These other therapy skills are certainly required to pass assessment of professional hypnotherapy associations both in New Zealand and overseas, including the NZAPH and NZHRB. Advanced hypnotherapy techniques, communication skills, and rapport building are essential. So too is being able to assist yourself with Self Hypnosis and other easy to use, self help techniques.  That’s why they are included for you in Alpha’s Diploma of Clinical Hypnotherapy.  

Learning Advanced Hypnotherapy techniques from IACT Master Trainer Roger Saxelby will enable you to offer more effective help to more of your clients. Talking about an issue, then giving suggestions may not be enough. Hypnotherapists with many years of experience will generally agree that what the client may think is the cause of their problem (the “presenting” problem) is possibly not the real issue at all. Even an issue that appears “simple” or “straight forward”, e.g. lacking motivation, may have its origin in the past. Therefore, Supportive or Suggestion Hypnotherapy is unlikely to resolve the true subconscious cause permanently.

Most experienced hypnotherapists have dealt with clients who have sought help previously from other hypnotherapists, but at that time only the “presenting” problem, the symptom, was dealt with.  Often, dealing only with the symptom will provide a temporary relief. Unfortunately, the same symptom may show up again, perhaps months, or even years later because the real cause was not dealt with, and resolved.

As a professional Hypnotherapist you have an ethical responsibility to have your clients “best interests” at heart, and to help them to understand and resolve the real issue, not just treat the symptom(s).

Personal assistance with Roger Saxelby is also available to you, both during the training, and afterwards as you start working with clients, and for as long as you need it.  This is, and always has been free of charge with Alpha. Roger mentors Alpha graduates, and also provides formal (paid) supervision to hypnotherapists where-ever they have trained.  He also mentors students from other schools who contact him for advice.
